Autochthonous grapes

Native varieties and local terroir expression

Garnacha Tintorera

This native variety stands out because it’s one of the few grapes in the world to have red must. In the case of wines made from the most common varieties, the red color comes only from the skin, but not in the case of Garnacha Tintorera.

This unique feature brings color intensity to wines made from this kind of grape, resulting in a dense garnet color, expression of purple flowers and a very ripe black fruit finish.

bobal

Considered to be the healthiest grape variety due to its high resveratrol content, Bobal is an indigenous Spanish grape mainly grown in the Utiel-Requena appellation. Additionally, our Bobal grapes grow from century old vines in a land of winemaking tradition.

This variety is common on cold and dry inland Mediterranean areas with sharp temperature variations between day and night. Such conditions are ideal to have healthy, well-ventilated grapes which are particularly suitable for organic certification, as the case of all Vegalfaro wines.
